Love and Worn is a rustic, nature inspired jewelry and goods company, continuing the story of high quality, out of fashion, leather garments. Unlike stiff new leather, I hunt down only the very best worn,  genuine,  soft, light weight leather, creating beautifully soft accessories that look and feel amazing.  Leather is a timeless material and being able to refashion it helps me love the nature that inspires my designs. Leather in hand,  I cut, draw, score and shape each garment into all types of creations. Each piece is unique. It brings me great joy transforming this beautifully WORN leather into  accessories and goods I LOVE for you.

I am Ashley, a self-taught artist, leather worker, and crafts-woman with a passion for nature, fashion, and classic long stories! 

A long time ago I wrote a story "If these clothes could talk", analyzing life through the eyes of a pieces of clothes. I'm sure my grandmothers kitchen apron would have a great story! I started honing in my leather crafting passion, crafting new story's for all sorts of high quality out of date garments. A dated, high quality leather jacket of my mom's was transformed into some amazing jewelry pieces. She can now wear it again, but in a new way. Continuing the story of such beautiful leather, creating something new out of a limited natural material resource, brings me great joy. 

I started off creating my “Loved and Worn” << feather-leaf >> 100% leather, bracelets about a year ago. I call them a << feather-leaf >> because the design is inspired by both.  I made them  in a few colors to wear for myself  because I LOVED them! After friends, family, coworkers, and many random people I encountered continued to say “I love that! Are you on etsy? Can you make me one?” I began creating, and creating, and creating. Now I have made many leaf >> feathers cuff bracelets and other creations I LOVE and want you to LOVE as well. 

I live in Portland, Oregon, a city covered in rain,  moss, leaves, and a new budding seasons of growth every month. Found and fallen nature is the focus of my environment inspiration.   My art helps me express my LOVE for the WORN beauty of nature and the environment.  I put this raw ascetic into all of the pieces I create.  

Every time I go outside I find inspiration and creation. I LOVE taking pictures, “probably too much” says my computer memory exploding with picture albums! 

I LOVE the organic design of  nature, always vast, beautiful, easy, calming, unique, and friendly. When designing jewelry I think about accessories I LOVE,  I think of them as "a dear friend", dependable, comfortable, and easy, able to partner with any outfit style I need for the day.  Soft, worn, repurposed, natural leather is a wonderful medium to create my "partner" accessories with. “A dear clothing friend” is what I strive to make.  Something to Love and something always Worn!

Besides my obsession with accessories I have also really enjoyed making a variety of other accessories for men and gift items from growler covers, cell phone covers, and cast iron pot holders. Each creation encompasses the same Love and Worn leather ascetic. I also enjoy making gift items that encompass this same feelings of nature, aged, rustic, friendship, and comfort. I find absolute joy in the joy others have found in my loved creations.
